Dear Parents, I would like to welcome you to the 2010-2011 year at Madison-Academy. I am Mr. Smith and I will be teaching the 7th grade, all subjects. Mrs. Butcher is moving up to the eighth grade and Mrs. Mills is going to be working with me in the seventh grade. We are excited to be working together, and we agree that we will have an awesome class this year. I have given the office a supply list for your son/daughter and that will remain the same; however, I may add to the list later on depending on what we need for the class. I will give you plenty of time to acquire these supplies. If you can’t afford them please feel free to contact me via e-mail. I will do my best to make sure your child is prepared for class and that he/she has everything they need to succeed. This year will be full of “fun learning,” because I understand that child’s education is important and if they can have fun learning; their education will be a working part of their life. Now, this does not mean we play all the time. I take my job seriously and I believe if students are not succeeding, neither am I. There will be homework and we will take tests, but the harder they work the more fun we will have. There will be Science labs for them, due to a partnership with Mr. Almquist (Science Teacher Grades 9-11). There will also be Math Activities that will require some “out-of-the-box thinking.” Sincerely,
Mark Smith
